Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA)

INTRODUCTION

This 2-day basic training is designed to introduce participants to the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 1994 and the recent amendments in OSHA 2022. It provides a simple overview of the Act’s purpose, key terms, and basic safety practices. The training includes interactive sessions, group activities, and practical assessments to help participants understand their roles and responsibilities in ensuring workplace safety.

  • Recognize the key amendments introduced in OSHA
  • Learn basic safety practices and emergency response
  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of employers and employees under OSHA.

  • Who is responsible for safety & health at the workplace?

MODULE 2 : BASIC ELEMENTS OF OSHA, 1994

  • General duties of employers and employees
  • What are Safety & Health Committee?
  • Overview of risk assessment basics

MODULE 3 : INTRODUCTION TO OSHA 2022, AMENDMENTS

  • Why are amendments made in 2022?
  • Overview of the main changes
  • Simple examples of how these changes impact workplaces

MODULE 4 : SAFETY CULTURE AND ITS IMPORTANCE

  • Whai is a Safety Culture?
  • How to foster a safety-first mindset at work
  • Simple steps for everyday safety

MODULE 5 : STEPS TO ENSURE SAFETY AT THE WORKPLACE

  • Simple safety checks and practices
  • Besic emergency response steps
  • How to report safety issues

MODULE 6 : HANDS ON ACTIVITY : IDENTIFYING HAZARDS

  • Group activity : Identifying common workplace hazards
  • Basic tips on how to control or prevent hazards

MODULE 7 : UNDERSTANDING YOUR RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Employees rights under OSHA
  • How to prticipate in safety activities
  • Role of employers in ensuring safety

MODULE 8 : EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS BASICS

  • Simple steps for emergency situations
  • How to create a basic emergency plan
  • Coordination with emergency services

FINAL ASSESSMENT AND FEEDBACK
