MS Excel : Basic – Intermediate

INTRODUCTION

This comprehensive 2 day training program is designed to build upon your existing Excel knowledge and take your skills to the next level. Throughout the day, we will dive into intermediate-level concepts and techniques that will empower you to manipulate data, perform advanced calculations, and create visually appealing reports and analyses.

This training is specifically tailored for individuals who are familiar with the basics of Excel and are eager to expand their proficiency in this powerful spreadsheet software. Whether you’re a business professional, analyst, student, or anyone who works with data, this training will equip you with the necessary tools and techniques to work more efficiently and effectively in Excel.

We have carefully structured the training agenda to cover a wide range of topics, including data manipulation and analysis, formulas and functions, advanced formatting techniques, data analysis tools, data validation, and collaboration features.   • Customize cell formatting to enhance visual
  • Apply styles and themes for consistent
  • Create and modify templates for efficient document creation.
  • Utilize conditional formatting to visually represent data

UTILIZE DATA ANALYSIS TOOLS EFFECTIVELY:

  • Create and modify PivotTables and PivotCharts for data
  • Use slicers and timelines to interactively analyze
  • Apply What-If Analysis tools (Goal Seek, Scenario Manager) for  decision-making.

 

COURSE CONTENTS

MODULE 1 : INTRODUCTION TO EXCEL

  • Overview of Microsoft Excel interface
  • Understanding the ribbon, tabs, and menus
  • Explanation of basic Excel terminology (workbook, worksheet, cell, rows, columns)
  • Creating a new workbook and saving it

MODULE 2 : DATA ENTRY AND FORMATTING

  • Entering data into cells (text, numbers, dates)
  • Formatting cells (font, alignment, borders, fill color)
  • Using basic formatting tools (bold, italic, underline)
  • Introduction to cell styles for quick formatting

MODULE 3 : BASIC FORMULAS AND FUNCIONS

  • Understanding formulas and calculations in Excel
  • Basic arithmetic operations (+, -, *, /)
  • Introduction to functions (SUM, AVERAGE, COUNT)
  • Using AutoSum for quick calculations
  • Copying formulas and functions across cells

MODULE 4 : DATA MANIPULATION

  • Sorting data in Excel (ascending, descending)
  • Filtering data using AutoFilter and advanced filter options Using
  • Find and Replace feature
  • Introduction to conditional formatting based on cell values

MODULE 5 : CHARTS AND GRAPHS

  • Creating different types of charts (bar, line, pie)
  • Formatting charts (titles, labels, legends)
  • Using chart templates for quick visualization
  • Adding data labels and annotations to charts

MODULE 6 : INTRODUCTION TO DATA ANALYSIS TOOLS

  • Using Data Tables for what-if analysis
  • Introduction to PivotTables and PivotCharts
  • Creating basic PivotTables to analyze data
  • Using slicers for interactive filtering in PivotTables
  • Introduction to Excel’s built-in data analysis tools (Goal Seek, Solver)

 

METHODOLOGY

An adult learning approach using a combination of lectures and simulation, exercises, hands-on with close supervision by the trainers, presentation, management games & group discussions
