INTRODUCTION

In today’s global management and uncertain business conditions, there is a need for all business or functional heads to grasp and apply fundamental financial management knowledge, skills and techniques to manage their respective areas in order to become truly, all-rounded professional managers.   • Key underlying accounting concepts used in preparation of financial statements
  • How finance affect a company’s operation

MODULE 3 : BUSINESS ANALYSIS

  • Interpret Financial Statements and analyse businesses
  • Perform a SWOT analysis using financial statement

MODULE 4 : CASH OPERATING CYCLE

  • Understand the cash operating cycle and what affects a company’s cash flow
  • Manage the cash operating cycle

MODULE 5 : COSTING

  • Different categories of costs and their implication on costing
  • Costing concept and applying them in making business decision

MODULE 6 : BUDGETING, FOREX AND TAXATION

  • Understand Budgeting
  • Effects of foreign exchange movements and taxation on financial decisions

MODULE 7 : INVESTMENT APPRAISAL TOOLS

  • Methods of project appraisal in decision making
  • Payback period
  • Net present value (NPV)
  • Internal rate of return
  • Concepts of gearing and weighted average cost of capital
  • Business analysis case study

MODULE 8 : PROFIT VS CASH

  • Difference between the impact on profit and cash of typical transaction company undertake
  • Why cash is king

MODULE 9 : WARNING SIGNALS

  • Uncover some warning signals in financial statement
