5S + 1S (Safety) Housekeeping

INTRODUCTION

5S plus 1S Housekeeping is an improved method of workplace organization that stresses safety as a crucial and integrated element while simultaneously increasing productivity and efficiency. Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, and Safety are the six pillars of workplace excellence that may be implemented with the help of this extensive 2-day workshop. In a variety of work environments, participants will get knowledge on how to create a culture of discipline, visual control, and proactive hazard reduction. To guarantee long-lasting effects, the training incorporates group projects, realistic simulations, and implementation planning.

MODULE 1 : INTRODUCTION TO 5S +1S

  • Origins of 5S and evolution to 5S + Safety
  • How 5S boosts productivity, quality, and morale
  • The role of Safety in Lean environments

MODULE 2 : S1 – SORT (SEIRI)

  • Eliminate what’s not needed
  • Red tagging method and waste identification

MODULE 3 : S2 – SET IN ORDER (SEITON)

  • Organizing tools and materials for efficiency
  • Creating shadow boards, labeling, and color codes

MODULE 4 : S3 – SHINE (SEISO)

  • Cleaning as inspection
  • Preventive maintenance integration
  • Establishing Shine schedules and responsibilities

MODULE 5 : S4 – STANDARDIZE (SEIKETSU)

  • Standardizing best practices and visual controls
  • Creating SOPs and 5S checklists
  • Templates for standard 5S documentation

MODULE 6 : + 1S SAFETY (ANZEN)

  • Embedding safety in every “S” activity
  • Identifying hazards: physical, ergonomic, and behavioral
  • Using visual safety cues: signs, markings, alerts
  • Safety and 5S synergy in manufacturing, office, and logistics

MODULE 7 : S5- SUSTAIN (SHITSUKE)

  • Building daily discipline and habits
  • Employee involvement and motivation
  • Recognition and rewards for 5S success

MODULE 8 : AUDIT, EVALUATION AND ROLL-OUT PLANNING

  • Conducting 5S + 1S audits and walkthroughs
  • Using scorecards and KPI tracking
  • Team-based audit simulation

MODULE 9 : MANAGING AND SUSTAINING 5S + 1S

  • Continuous improvement practices
  • Measuring and reporting on 5S + 1S performance
  • Ensuring long-term sustainability of 5S + 1S practices
  • Conducting regular reviews and audits

MODULE 10 : ADDRESSING  COMMON CHALLENGES AND RISKS

  • Managing resistance to change
  • Ensuring data accuracy and integrity
  • Mitigating security and compliance risks
  • Handling supplier and stakeholder relationships
